The Isle of Wight is a popular tourist destination. It continues
to attract large numbers of visitors.
- In a single year there are in excess of 2.6 million visits to the Isle of Wight.
- Over the past 4 years the number of visitors to the Island has risen by 4.7%.
- Over the course of next year, an additional 50,000 visitors are expected to arrive on the Isle of Wight.*
- Staying visits on the Isle of Wight generate almost £283 million a year, which is about 90% of the total tourist revenue.
- Day visits are worth about £37.5 million a year.
As well as a thriving tourist population, the 2001 Census gave the residential population of the Isle of Wight as 132, 731. Many of these people are part of a commuting population who regularly travel to and from the Isle of Wight. Your adverts will be a part of their travelling experience too.
